Happy {belated} Birthday, America...

We are ready to celebrate!!!

We had a great July 4th holiday, kicked off by a neighborhood parade. Tons of our friendly neighbors got decked out in their red, white and blue to celebrate one of my favorite holidays - next year the Kings will be entering this high stakes competition.... wish us luck.

They weren't too eager about posing for pictures; they were ready to see all the action.

Landry loved it...she was cooing all morning at the lights and sounds. Our local fire station came out, the police, dogs, kids and tons of golf carts drove by as we waved and watched.

"Mommy, can we walk in it next year?"

How do I dress her up like a firecracker?

Then the big kids, Ryan and Pops headed to the club for swimming with the Royals while GiGi and I started dinner. (I may have joined them for a tiny bit, but then I went straight to working setting up for our annual BBQ).

The party couldn't start until we stopped for our annual 4th picture...

We 5 Kings

with Uncle Pete...

And of course, GiGi and Pops...

Then it was time to dig in...

And dig in we did!!

DELICIOUS!!!

Landry was even licking her fingers.

;)

I actually took zero pictures during the party. (I can't even believe it myself) Instead - I just hung out and talked - what a strange feeling.

Then it was time to put on pjs and head out to watch the fireworks...

Someone didn't love the loud noises (which is pretty ironic given how loud she can be).

Someone else stayed awake the entire time, also surprising since sister likes her sleep!

It was such a fun holiday spent with our family and friends, talking, laughing, eating and celebrating our every day freedoms that we sometimes take for granted.

God Bless America!
