40 never looked so good...

We took the kids to a little birthday party on Saturday... the famous Dixie Chicken turned 40!!

(Yes, it's a bar. We brought our babies to bar. For a birthday party. But... it was lunch. And lots of other kids were there, too.) (And elementary school teachers). (So there.)

This place is Aggieland. Everyone has been there at least once. It's exactly what a Texas bar should look like. It serves the best, greasiest, yummiest, food. It has cold beer. And sangria. By the pitcher. I have only been kicked out of it once. On a Wednesday. For singing Disney songs too loud.
(and that is not a lie).

Everyone has a "Chicken" story. You learned how to play 42 at one of the tables. You played pool. You laughed and made memories. And we wanted to be there to celebrate its milestone birthday!

It was a great way to kick off a fantastic Father's Day weekend.

Plus, we figure these six are going to end up hanging out here in 15 years or so, may as well get them acquainted with the place.

;)

Hopefully they will limit dancing on tables to times when we are around. (And they are still young enough for it to be cute).

Yes, I'm sure they will have "Chicken stories" all of their own to tell...
