Friday Night Lights...

We got to experience a different kind of "Friday Night Lights" this weekend… Radley got to escort the Aggies onto the field as a player with the CS Soccer Club. He was so pumped and could not wait to get there.

Out of all the players he was partnered with the starting goalie - and y'all. My outgoing, larger than life boy became so shy. I was trying to snap pictures and he was giving me "the look". It was kind of adorable and heart breaking in the same moment.

(It also made me look forward to the days when we REALLY get to embarrass him.)

(Because what's parenthood without perks.)

They got to stand there as the players were introduced.

And they even got to sing the National Anthem.

Then it was time to clear the field so the Aggies could play.

This was sadly, my first real (like for real) soccer game to attend. And you know what? I liked it. It looks miserable because of all the running back and forth, but as a spectator, it was fun to watch - especially with the kids. They surprised me with how into they were and Radley was so excited when he recognized why the players did what they did.

He then wanted to take pictures of his new friend.

And captured this huge foul by Auburn.

(In case they needed evidence for review).

We had a great night with our little family and we even managed to last to the end.

So, our Friday night lights may change for a while, and I am absolutely ok with that.
